The e-Framework and the ELF

JISC and DEST alongside other international partners are broadening the service-oriented approach into services for Research and Administration to compliment e-Learning.

"The e-Framework is an initiative by the U.K's Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), Australia's Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) and partners to produce an evolving and sustainable, open standards based, service oriented technical framework to support the education and research communities."

The e-Framework currently has a temporary website where some general background information on the initiative is available (as well as materials from the CETIS-JISC conference held in Edinburgh in November 2005). In terms of implications for the e-Learning framework, it is expected that the ELF will be refactored and become part of the e-framework.
